Panama reports 1,087 new COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths in 24 hours
There are a total of 400,592 recovered patients and 13,636 active COVID-19 cases, of which 12,904 are in home isolation.
After reporting a total of 1,087 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Panama raised its number of infections to 420,916, according to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, 13 new deaths and one updated death from previous days were reported, totaling 6,688 deaths from this virus in the country. The fatality rate remains at 1.6%.
12,974 new tests were carried out to detect COVID -19, for a percentage of positivity of 8.3%.
There are a total of 400,592 recovered and 13,636 active cases.
Of the total of active cases, there are 12,904 people are in isolation, of which 12,553 are at home and 351 in hotels; while 732 patients are hospitalized, of them 619 in ward and 113 in intensive care.
Despite the fact that Panama is in the process of vaccination against COVID-19, the use of masks continues to be essential as they represent protection above 80%.
