Panama reports 1,048 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths in 24 hours

The epidemiological report reflects that to date some 373,896 people have been recovered from the coronavirus.
For this Wednesday, June 16, in Panama 1,048 new infections of COVID-19 are registered, bringing the accumulated number of cases to 390,221.

In addition, the country registers a total of 6,457 deaths from coronavirus, with 2 new deaths, 3 from previous dates are updated, and the case fatality rate is 1.7%.

The Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa) reports that in the last 24 hours a total of 13,943 new tests have been carried out to detect COVID-19, and the positivity rate in the country is currently 7.7%.

It adds that 456 patients are hospitalized in the ward and another 76 are in intensive care units.

On the other hand, a total of 9,868 cases of COVID -19 remain active, of which 8,912 remain in isolation at home and 424 are in hospital hotels.
