Panama registers 691 new COVID-19 cases and 4 deaths in 24 hours

The accumulated cases of COVID-19 in Panama increased to 451,984 and 7,003 deaths rose.
Panama registered a total of 691 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, with which the accumulated number of cases rises to 451,984 for this Saturday, August 21.

Likewise, the total number of deaths increased to 7,003 after accounting for 4 new deaths and 1 death from previous days.

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that the fatality rate of COVID-19 in Panama is 1.5%.

The epidemiological report details that to date a total of 9,378 cases remain active, of which 246 are in hospital hotels and 8,712 remain in isolation at home.

The report adds that a total of 312 patients are currently hospitalized in the ward, while 108 remain in intensive care units.

On the other hand, the Minsa indicates that 435,603 people are reported who have recovered from COVID -19 in Panama.

The Minsa points out that in the last hours 10,775 new tests have been carried out to detect the coronavirus and the positivity rate is 6.4%.
