Panama registers 440 new COVID-19 and 8 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that Panama raises its death toll from COVID-19 to 6,018 and with 440 new cases, the country registers 349,020 infections of the virus nationwide.
According to the epidemiological report for this Wednesday, March 17, 337,630 clinically recovered patients are reported.

To date, 8,707 tests have been applied, for a percentage of positivity of 5% and about 8 new deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours. In addition, 1 death from a previous date is updated.

The case fatality of the virus is 1.7%.

The report adds that active cases total 5,372. In home isolation, 4,635 people are reported, of which 4,441 are at home and 194 in hotels.

The hospitalized number 737 and of them 643 are in the ward and 94 in the ICU.
