Panama records 965 new COVID-19 cases 20 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Thursday, July 9, that there are total of 41,251 cases of the virus in Panama. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 839 dead in the country.

According to the official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 41,251, while 20,437 patients have clinically recovered from the disease. There are currently 20,940 active cases.

Deaths

A total of 20 new deaths were recorded over 24 hours, which brings the total to 839. The death rate of the infected is currently 1.98%.

Testing

2,457 new tests were conducted in since the last report, of which 39.2% were positive. The number of total tests is now 155,605, of which 110,426 were negative.

Testing rate is reported to cover 3,637 per 100,000 population.

Treatment

19,182 patients are in home isolation and 709 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 890 are in the hospital ward and 159 in the intensive care units.
