Panama records 1,040 new COVID-19 cases 24 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Friday, July 10, that there are total of 43,257 cases of the virus in Panama. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 863 dead in the country.

According to the official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 43,257, while 21,426 patients have clinically recovered from the disease. There are currently 20,968 active cases.

Deaths

A total of 24 new deaths were recorded over 24 hours, which brings the total to 863. The death rate of the infected is currently 2%.

Testing

3,064 new tests were conducted in since the last report, of which 33.9% were positive. The number of total tests is now 158,669, of which 112,407 were negative.

Testing rate is reported to cover 3,708 per 100,000 population.

Treatment

19,193 patients are in home isolation and 656 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 959 are in the hospital ward and 160 in the intensive care units.
