This new shipment of the AstraZeneca anticovid vaccine arrived in Panama through the Covax mechanism of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
This Wednesday, September 15, a new batch of the anticovid
vaccine developed by the pharmaceutical company
AstraZeneca arrived in Panama , with 74,400 doses, reported the Ministry of Health (
Minsa).
Minsa indicated that this new shipment of the
AstraZeneca formula arrived in the country through the
Covax mechanism of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
According to the Expanded Program on Immunization (PAI) Panama has received 1,286,400 doses of the
AstraZeneca covid-19
vaccine to date, and 742,690 doses have been applied nationwide.
Last weekend, the pharmaceutical company
AstraZeneca fulfilled its bilateral contract with Panama after delivering 163,200 doses of its
vaccine.
The
AstraZeneca vaccine is being applied in Panama on a voluntary basis to women and men over 30 years of age.
The
Minsa recalled that some regions where the
AstraZeneca preparation is being applied are the Rommel Fernández Stadium in Juan Díaz, the provinces of Herrera, Coclé, Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí and San Miguelito, among others.
