Panama reaches 100,330 accumulated cases of COVID-19 and 2,140 deaths

Panama reached Friday, September 11, an accumulated number of 100,330 positive cases of coronavirus, with a total of 615 new infections registered in the last 24 hours.
The epidemiological report issued by the Ministry of Health (Minsa), details that the number of deaths in the country due to COVID-19 increased to 2,140, ​​with a total of 13 new deaths, maintaining a case fatality rate of 2.1%.

Minsa report added that currently there are 1,301 hospitalized patients, of which 1,132 are in the ward and 169 remain in the intensive care unit.

72,858 people have recovered from COVID-19 and 25,332 active cases are currently registered, of which 24,031 are in home isolation; 23,566 people at home and 465 in hotel hospitals.

In the last hours, 5,007 tests have been carried out to detect the coronavirus and the percentage of positivity in the country remains at 12.3%.

To date, a total of 389,532 tests have been carried out, of which 285,652 were negative; In addition, Panama has managed to have 91,044 tests per million inhabitants.

Minsa report added that regarding the number of cases according to age group, he points out that there are 14,647 cases in those under 20 years of age; from 20 to 39, 41,753 cases were registered; from 40 to 59 there are 30,371; from 60 to 79 they count 11,249; and in people over 80, 2,328 cases were registered.

While in terms of the number of deaths according to age group, it indicates that in those under 20 there are 20 deaths; from 20 to 39 they count 110; from 40 to 59 there are 462; from 60 to 79 there are 1,013; and in those over 80 there are 535 deaths.
