The Ministry of Health of Panama is in negotiations to obtain the vaccine against COVID-19 from Johnson & Johnson with the aim of vaccinating citizens who reside in remote places, indicated Nadja Porcell, National Director of Health.
This is because the
Johnson &
Johnson vaccine requires the application of a single dose, unlike the
vaccines of the rest of the pharmaceutical companies such as
Pfizer,
AstraZeneca, and Sputnik V, which require two doses.
Considering the difficulties that could occur during immunization in difficult-to-reach areas, it is contemplated to apply a single dose so that no one is left unvaccinated.
Porcell reiterated that regardless of whether they have been subject to vaccination, first and second doses, the mask should be used as a prevention method.
