Panama Metro modifies schedules due to new restrictions, will close during total quarantine
The Panama Metro has proceeded to modify its opening hours to the public due to the implementation of new restrictive measures by the National Government to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
From Monday to Saturday lines 1 and 2 of this transport system will be operating from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm, while on Sundays and holidays the operations will be from 7:00 am to 8:00 am p.m
On the other hand, the Panama Metro will remain closed during the total quarantines announced from Friday, December 25 (Christmas) at 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28 and from 7:00 p.m. from January 1, 2021 (New Years) until 5:00 am on Monday, January 4.
Luis Carlos Díaz, director of operations of the Panama Metro, announced that operational measures have been reinforced in the face of that 40% that we have proposed in commercial operation, we have reinforced circulation with additional trains on line 1 where they are circulating 27 trains and 17 trains continue to circulate on line 2, today the demand is at an average of 210 users per day, which represents 53% compared to the demand prior to the pandemic.
