Panama has confirmed 1,357 dengue fever cases in 2020

Ministry of Health (Minsa) reports 1,357 dengue cases have been confirmed nationwide so far in 2020. This figure is equivalent to 31.7% for every 100,000 inhabitants.

Of the total of confirmed cases, 1,222 correspond to dengue without warning signs; while 128 cases are with warning signs. Seven of the cases are serious.

According to the Ministry of Health, the sector with the highest incidence of dengue in the country is East Panama, with 285 confirmed cases; while Panama Norte has registered 221 cases so far; then followed by the Metropolitan region with 236, West Panama 143 and San Miguelito 126 cases.

Recommendations :

Eliminate mosquito breeding sites on tires, lids, cups or any container that stores clean water, since these are potential breeding sites that later affect people's health up to 400 meters near houses.
