The futsal team of Panama goes to the 2021 Lithuania World Cup , after beating Canada on penalties. The teams equaled 1-1 in time and everything was decided in the fateful penalty shootout during the Concacaf World Cup that takes place in Guatemala.
The game between Panama and Canada to reach the semifinals of the Concacaf Futsal World Cup and qualify for the 2021 World Cup in Lithuania was dramatic.
Abdiel Ortiz, from the Panama futsal team, was in charge of opening the scoring against Canada. The selection led by Venezuelan José Botana went to rest with the lead on the scoreboard.
On their return, Canada came to add and scored their first goal in the match. The tie was maintained and they went into overtime to define the winner, but after the two overtimes it came to the penalty shootout.
The save by Panamanian goalkeeper Jaime Londoño and the goal of Alfonso 'Goku' Maquensi defined the victory of the futsal team of Panama (4-3) after equaling 1-1 in overtime against Canada. With this triumph, Panama achieved its pass to the Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021.
