The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa) indicates that for this August 13 the deaths from the new coronavirus amounted to 1,722; after registering 19 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The disease has a mortality rate of 2.2% in the country.
Regarding
COVID-19 infections, the report indicates that these rose to 78,446, after some 3,126 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, which showed about 1,069 new cases.
The country registers 52,210 people recovered from the virus and active cases are estimated at 24,514.
It was indicated that 21,259 patients are kept in isolation at home and 591 have been accommodated in hospital hotels.
While 1,515 people are undergoing hospitalization in wards and 158 are confined in intensive care units.
Panama has so far carried out a total of 261,350 tests to detect
COVID-19.
