For this Wednesday, September 16, Panama reported 634 new cases of COVID-19, which brings the total number of infections to 103,466, according to the Ministry of Health.
On the other hand, 11 new deaths were registered in the last 24 hours. The country adds a total of 2,198 deaths from
coronavirus, which represents a case fatality rate of 2.1%.
According to the epidemiological report, 23,155 of the active patients are in home isolation (413 confined in hotels), while another 913 are hospitalized (755 in ward and 158 in intensive care).
To date, Panama reports a total of 76,787 clinically recovered patients.
The
Minsa indicated that in the last hours 5,453 tests were carried out, with a positivity rate of 11.6%.
According to the age group, patients aged 20 to 59 years continue to be the most affected in terms of contagion, however, most deaths correspond to those over 60 years of age.
