Pan-American highway between Vacamonte and Bique will be partially closed this Saturday until 6:00 pm
The Ministry of Public Works of Panama (MOP) informed motorists of the Arraiján-La Chorrera highway that that Pan-American highway from Panama City between the Vacamonte and Bique sectors will be partially closed.
The entity added that the closure is attributed to the continuation of the critical point repair work (sinking of the third lane next to the shoulder)
"At the moment excavation works are being carried out to remove deteriorated material, placement of a new base layer, placement of geogrids to later place a new asphalt layer," the MOP said in a statement.
The work is expected to be carried out from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, so a partial closure of the road is being carried out and users of the Arraiján-La Chorrera highway are asked to take their precautions or use alternate routes, while the work lasts.
The ministry recommends that drivers attend the traffic signs posted in the area to avoid accidents, thus complying with the standards established by the Transit and Land Transportation Authority (ATTT).
The works are part of the project "Design and Construction for the Rehabilitation and Widening of the Arraiján-La Chorrera Highway" carried out by the Global Bank Insurer through the company Constructora Urbana, SA, (CUSA).
