PAI headquarters move to a new location to make way for the construction of the new Children's Hospital
The PAI has been moved to a building located near the facilities of the National Institute of Mental Health.
The facilities of the National Deposit of Biologicals, which functioned as the headquarters of the Expanded Program on Immunization ( PAI ), have been evicted.
This eviction is being carried out to proceed with the demolition of these facilities and to make way for the next construction of the new Children's Hospital.
The Medical Director of the Children's Hospital , Paul Gallardo, indicated that progress has been made with this eviction after resolving the issue of moving the PAI, which has been moved to a building located near the facilities of the National Institute of Mental Health.
However, he explained that the issue of the gardens of the Santo Tomás Hospital grounds remains to be resolved.
“There were only two aspects that had to be clarified, one was that the one that had already been solved was that of the Expanded Program on Immunization facilities that had already moved to their new facilities, remember that the Children's Hospital is included in those areas, and the other is simply the clarifications that we are making with the collaborators of Santo Tomás and the use of land that is declared as historical heritage but that the project has contemplated the restoration of the gardens and currently there is no garden in that area ”, he detailed.
He recalled that the construction of the new Children's Hospital is "a demand that has been going on for many years, and almost two months ago the order to proceed was given to the company that was awarded."
