The judges of the Oral Trial Court of the Pinchazos case decided that the intervening parties should be tested for covid-19.
The oral trial for the
Pinchazos case that follows the former president of the Republic, Ricardo Martinelli for the
Pinchazos case, was suspended until this Wednesday, after one of the defense lawyers tested positive for
covid-19.
Today when the hearing was resumed, the judges that make up the Oral Trial Court of the
Pinchazos case decreed a recess to make a decision, after being informed about the positive case of
covid-19.
The judges decided that those involved in the oral trial should be tested for
covid-19.
"When we were going to start the hearing, the Court was informed that one of the defenders tested positive for
covid, so the provisions are being taken, despite the fact that the Court had taken several measures in this regard," said Roniel Ortiz, lawyer for former President Ricardo Martinelli.
Until last Friday, August 6, the reading progressed to page 887 of the second booklet, out of a total of seven.
The seven booklets are related to the visual inspection of an email and different judicial proceedings.
The evacuation of this evidence is done in a reserved manner only for the intervening parties, in accordance with the provisions at the time by the Second Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, when taking into account its sensitive and confidential content of the information of the victims in this case.
Former President Ricardo Martinelli is accused of the alleged commission of telecommunications interception, monitoring, persecution and surveillance without judicial authorization.
