'Operation Refuge' deployed in Colón and Panama, 12 people apprehended
In the operation, two firearms, a replica of a weapon, alleged drugs and more than 2,000 balboas were also seized.
The National Police and the Public Ministry of Panama coordinated in carrying out Operation Refuge deployed in the provinces of Colón and Panama, through which they apprehended 12 people required for crimes against Freedom and Sexual Integrity, Against Economic Order, Against Life and Personal Integrity.
In these proceedings, two firearms, a replica of a weapon, alleged drugs and more than 2,000 dollars were seized.
"21 raids were carried out in the Metropolitan area and in the province of Colón, the same in order to carry out apprehensions of people related to life, against public health and also the illegal possession of firearms. They were also 12 apprehended, three seizures of firearms, as well as illegal substances, cash that is presumed to be illegal. The National Police will continue with operations at the national level in order to minimize the incidence of crime and guarantee citizen security," highlighted Florencio Hernández deputy commissioner of the Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) on the results of the proceedings.
It should be noted that for two days the authorities have carried out operations through which they have detained some 33 people in total, who are linked to illegal acts.
