Panama is applying the AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19 to volunteers, men over 30 and women over 50.
Next Monday, May 17, the application of the second dose of the
AstraZeneca vaccine against
COVID-19 to the first vaccinated volunteers will begin in Panama.
This was reported by the administrator of the Authority for Government Innovation (AIG), Luis Oliva, through his Twitter account.
Oliva urged people who have already received their first dose with the
AstraZeneca immunizer to verify the day and time of vaccination through https://vacunas.panamasolidario.gob.pa/verificate/ , starting this afternoon.
In mid-April, Panama received 36,000 doses of
AstraZeneca vaccine through the
Covax mechanism, of which it used half to guarantee the second
vaccine to the first immunized volunteers.
These doses were applied in a fast car authorized in the parking lots of the Rommel Fernández Stadium, in Panama City.
Last Tuesday, May 11, a second batch with 74,400 doses of
AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in the country, which will be distributed among the provinces of Panama, Veraguas, Chiriquí, Colón, Coclé, Panama Oeste, Bocas del Toro and the Azuero region.
