The Decree No. 030 Mayoral of 7 October and promulgated in the Official Gazette of Panama, ordered the suspension of the sale of liquor in the capital district next Monday 2 November.
The regulations emphasize that this date, called "Day of the Dead" (Dia de los Muertos); should be dedicated to the reflection and remembrance of the people who have passed away.
Article 1 orders the suspension of the use of music boxes, symphonies and other musical instruments; as well as the emission of noise and the performance of dance activities enlivened by orchestras, ensembles and other music broadcasting media. While article 2 orders the suspension of the sale of alcoholic beverages throughout the district of Panama.
For both prohibitions, a suspension schedule is established that runs from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm on November 2, 2020.
The decree indicates that this compliance exempts premises located within hotels duly authorized to operate as such.
The sanctions established in this decree for violators of this prohibition will range from $100 to $1,000.
