President of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo said Friday, amid a tour of the province of Veraguas, the circuits where the next would be made sweeps of vaccination against COVID-19 from 1 September.
According to the president, the vaccination for people over 12 years of age would be given in the 1-1 circuit in Bocas del Toro, where the second dose would be applied to the residents of this sector; Also for these ages, second doses will be applied in the 2-3 circuits (Coclé) and in the 3-1 (Colón district).
Vaccination from the age of 12, will also be given on the 8-4 circuit (Balboa, Chepo, Chimán, Taboga) and in San Francisco on the 8-8 circuit.
Second doses from 16 years of age
This announcement also detailed that the second doses will be applied to people over 16 years old in the 7-1 circuit (Guararé, Las Tablas, Pedasí and Pocrí); at 8-5 (La Chorrera); and in 8-9 (Panama Norte, Las Cumbres, Mayor Díaz, Chilibre, Caimitillo and Ernesto Córdoba).
It was detailed that with these sweeps it is expected to vaccinate about 455,284 people.
The report of the Expanded Program of Immunization (PAI) until this Friday indicated that in Panama 4,326,059 doses have been applied, of this total 3,651,062 correspond to the house
Pfizer and 674,997 to the pharmaceutical
AstraZeneca.
