Panamá supera los 280,300 casos confirmados de coronavirus

New mobility measures from January 14 announced at national level

The Minister of Health of Panama, Luis Francisco Sucre, announced adjustments to the restrictions imposed, eliminating the control of mobility hours by ID for Panama and Panama West and the new curfew hours for the different provinces of the country.

As of Thursday, January 14, the curfew will be from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am nationwide.

Panama and West Panama

The previously established sanitary fences are maintained, which will be located at the National Police station in the district of Chepo and in the El Lago spa in Capira.

Purchases in stores will be maintained by gender, Monday, Wednesday and Friday for women, and Tuesday and Thursday for men. In addition, a total quarantine is established on weekends.

Coclé, Veraguas and Los Santos

A total quarantine will be decreed without working hours or mobility, from January 15 at 9:00 pm until Monday at 4:00 am The measure will govern depending on social behavior.

The trade continues open from Monday to Friday until 7:30 pm

Herrera

In Herrera, upon detecting a significant increase in cases, a total quarantine will be established, without working hours with mobility restriction by gender from 9:00 p.m. from January 15 to February 1 at 4:00 a.m.

From Monday to Friday, only supermarkets, shops, grocery stores and pharmacies will remain open for the exclusive sale of food and medicine.

A total quarantine will be established on weekends, while mobility during the week will be: Monday, Wednesday and Friday for women, and Tuesday and Thursday for men.

The health authorities had issued restrictive measures for the end of the year holidays, and restored the total quarantine and mobility by gender in Panama and Panama Oeste until January 14, with the aim of reducing the cases of COVID-19 in the country.

However, a sustained decrease in positivity of up to 6% was achieved in recent days. Reducing from 29% to 23%.

The violation of the provisions will be sanctioned by the competent authority.
