As of Monday, May 24, a new curfew schedule will take effect in the sectors of Antón, Penonomé and La Pintada, in the province of Coclé, given the increase in COVID-19 cases.
According to the Ministry of Health ( Minsa ), the curfew in these areas of the country, as in Veraguas and Chiriquí, will be from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.
The head of the Minsa in Panama, Luis Francisco Sucre, indicated that shops may open from Monday to Sunday until 9:00 p.m.
Sucre stressed that the measures will be evaluated weekly to determine if there will be new changes.
To date Panama 371,684 cases of COVID-19, of which 5,536 remain active and a total of 359,848 have been recovered.
The authorities ask not to lower their guard and urge the population to be vaccinated to mitigate the fatality rate and the positivity of COVID-19 in Panama.
