Nearly 300 foreigners with criminal records denied entry to Panama in 2021

The National Migration Service of Panama (SNM) reported that between the months of January and February 2021 it denied the entry to the country of 283 citizens of different nationalities, by applying the administrative measure of inadmissibility.
"One of the reasons why these people were denied entry to the country is because they have criminal records, in which there are reports of criminal cases against them, such as robbery, theft, possession and trafficking of drugs, fraudulent documents, sexual assault, money laundering and illegal possession of firearms," reports Migración in a statement.

In the report they present for the first two months of the year, they detail that in January 2021, 146 people (130 men and 16 women) were not allowed to enter the country, while in February some 137 foreign citizens were unable to enter Panama. (117 men and 20 women).

This institution that regulates immigration issues in our country; Its functions include: authorizing, denying or prohibiting the entry or stay of foreigners in the national territory, who have criminal records, or irregular situations that constitute reason for not allowing these people to enter the country.
