The National PolicePanama confirmed this morning, through a statement, the capture in the Costa del Este sector of one of the most sought after in the country.
The entity assured that the captured, José Cossio, is linked to an investigation by the Public Ministry and the arrest proceeded against him by this entity.
"The National Police communicates that, on September 16, 2020, through official letter JPLCP -1022-20, the Judicial Branch granted immediate freedom in favor of José Cossio who was detained in Punta Coco. Due to a new office, and at the request of the The Public Ministry proceeded with the corresponding capture and it will be a guarantee judge who will determine what corresponds to law," the statement said.
There was never an explanation why he was released from Punta Coco in the first place.
It should be noted that José Cossio has been previously linked as the leader of the Calor Calor gang, and has also been prosecuted for crimes related to drug trafficking, aggravated robbery, homicide and illegal possession of firearms.
