National Journalism Council requests security protocols for threats against journalists
Journalist Flor Mizrachi has received threats of kidnapping, rape, torture and murder for her posts that revealed clandestine vaccination.
The National Council of Journalism rejected the threats perpetrated against the journalist Flor Mizrachi after her investigation that revealed the execution of clandestine and VIP vaccinations. The union asked the authorities to establish action protocols in the face of these types of threats.
Mizrachi, who has already filed the complaint with the Public Ministry, explained that she has been receiving threats, against her and her family, of kidnapping, rape, torture and murder for her publications.
The journalistic union asks that, in the face of this type of threat, “the urgent physical protection of threatened persons be included automatically when they disclose the fact; judge the degree of dangerousness of these threats, and carry out an immediate investigation against those who are suspected”.
"We call on the authorities, in order to preserve the lives of all those who are victims of threats such as those that have motivated this pronouncement," indicates the National Council of Journalism.
In addition, they highlighted the importance of the role of journalists in society and “any threat to their life or their freedom to express themselves damages the right of citizens to be informed and, in turn, to inform third parties; to exercise freedom of thought and to express oneself freely."
The Guild said it was waiting for a meeting to be called as soon as possible in order to establish the suggested action protocol.
