Municipal Council of Panama approves reinstatement of Judy Meana to the Mayor's Office
The Municipal Council of Panama approved this Friday the reinstatement of Deputy Mayor Judy Meana to the Mayor's Office of the capital.
Meana indicated that this approval was a reinstatement protocol, since she was elected by popular vote.
The deputy mayor left the position of Governor of the province of Panama, after the Panamanian president Laurentino Cortizo, called her to inform her that the Government would be being renewed.
Several days after being removed from office, Meana held a meeting with the mayor of the capital, José Luis Fábrega, at the House of the Municipality, and discussed the economic recovery plan and social plans contemplated for this 2021, as well as the cases of abuse of minors in shelters, and the proposal to retake the woman's office.
Since April 16, 2020, the Municipal Council of the district of Panama approved to grant Meana leave without pay.
