As of 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 23, 5,594 people in Panama had already been vaccinated against covid-19, reported the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
The information was provided to the
Minsa by the Government Innovation Authority (AIG).
The entity assured that until now, the vaccination process for health workers has been developed throughout the country without setbacks and within the established scheme.
The vaccination process against
covid-19 in Panama began on January 20, after the first 12,840 doses of the
vaccine from
Pfizer and
BioNTech arrived in the country .
The first phase of vaccination includes health workers, members of essential services, adults over 60 years of age, and people over 16 with disabilities.
Staff who care for patients with
covid-19 have denounced irregularities in the process, applying the doses to officials who are not on the front line of battle.
