More than 3,000 health professionals hired to face the pandemic

A total of 3,173 health professionals have been hired as of February 2 at the national level to face the fight against the covid-19 pandemic.

Of the total hired, 83% are technical personnel and 17% represent the human resource that supports sanitation work.

Breakdown:

- 514 doctors
- 94 dentists
- 794 nurses
- 918 nursing technicians
- 46 clinical laboratory workers
- 37 health statistics
- 221 other health professionals (pharmacists, nutritionists, emergency medical technicians, others)


According to the Ministry of Health, of the contracted administrative personnel, 162 are community promoters, whose function is to "reinforce health promotion in hard-to-reach areas and regional zones"; another 549 people help with sanitary tasks such as ambulance drivers, manual workers, staff working in hotels, Rapid Response Teams and Unified Traceability Teams for fast cars.
