Un 42.23% de los contratos laborales suspendidos han sido reactivados

More than 128,000 employment contracts have been reactivated

A total of 128,547 contracts have been reactivated nationwide, according to the Minister of Labor and Labor Development, Doris Zapata.
This represents 45.23% of the suspended contracts.

However, of the 128 thousand contracts reactivated, there have been 9,600 dismissals "for different reasons," said Zapata.

Among the causes, Zapata lists mutual agreement, justified dismissals, termination of contracts, and resignations.

Around 280 thousand employment contracts were suspended in Panama as a result of the covid-19 pandemic, representing some 20 thousand companies.

According to the report of the National Institute of Statistics and Census, 2020 closed with 18% (371 thousand people) unemployment; while 2019 closed with 7%.
