After a complaint was made in a printed media that supposedly a laboratory that operates at the Tocumen Airport to test for COVID-19 does not appear on the Gorgas Institute endorsement list, the minister of Health, Ivette Berrío indicated that they will proceed to investigate the situation and verify its operation certificate.
When a type of complaint is made, it is the responsibility of the entity that corresponds to make the evaluation and investigation through its legal department. If there is a complaint we will evaluate, taking into account that the Ministry of Health also has the permits to carry out this type of work, said the vice minister.
However, Berrío pointed out that for a laboratory to offer these services at the Tocumen Airport, it had to have gone through a series of procedures requested by the Ministry of Health, ranging from the type of laboratory, its license and other details.
On the other hand, Dr. Berrío stressed that the reason for taking the new restriction measures in which exits in purchases by gender are imposed, seek to limit the levels of
coronavirus infections in Panama.
