The Minsa through the Metropolitan Health Region reported that no permit was issued to hold the event at the local hotel.
The Ministry of Health of Panama reported this Monday that it will apply "severe" sanctions to organizers and people who failed to comply with biosecurity measures during an activity carried out the past weekend in a hotel in the town.
This, after the circulation on social networks of a video in which an activity was recorded with the massive participation of people, and where the Ministry of Health indicates that no permit was issued to carry out this event.
The entity in a statement explains that the organizers requested from the
Minsa authorization for the use of the social area, with the capacity established by the health authority, but at no time was it authorized to carry out concerts, dances or other activities with the participation massive number of people.
The Metropolitan Health Region indicated that it will take the severe sanctioning measures that the law allows, since they failed to comply with the biosafety measures established in the country, to mitigate the increase in infections by
COVID-19 .
Minsa reiterates to the population that the measures established are to safeguard the health of the entire population against
COVID-19, so they must be respected and abided by, since in recent weeks there has been an increase in cases in this region of the country.
