The Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa) announced this Sunday the tightening of restriction measures in the country, with the aim of reducing the number of people who circulate in the streets, neighborhoods and shops, this before the increase in cases of coronavirus registered in recent days.
Among the measures, the establishment of a total quarantine was announced for the provinces of Panama and Panama Oeste from January 4 to 14, 2021, curfew from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am and mobility by gender according to the last number ID or passport, with which the women will circulate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; while the men will circulate on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In the case of adults over 60 years of age and people with disabilities, the circulation to make their purchases is established between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm regardless of their identification number and they may be accompanied by their life assistant regardless of gender.
During the total quarantine, the allowed establishments will open until 7:30 p.m. and will be allowed to go out exclusively to make purchases of food and medicine in supermarkets, grocery stores and pharmacies, in addition they will open hardware stores, veterinary clinics, fuel stations and other essential services
For the rest of the provinces, the curfew continues from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am, while the sanitary fences will continue in force from January 4 to 14.
On Saturday, January 9 and Sunday, January 10 there will be a total quarantine nationwide, and only one person per family will be allowed to enter cemeteries and crypts on Martyr's Day (January 9).
With regard to selective transport or taxis, it is established that from January 4 to 14, circulation according to pairs and odd numbers according to the last number of the plate: from January 4 to 8, plates with even numbers will circulate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday , while the plates with odd numbers on Tuesday and Thursday; and from January 11 to 14 the even boxes will circulate on Tuesday and Thursday; and odd plates on Monday and Wednesday.

reiterates that from December 28 to 31, the curfew remains in force from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and purchases are allowed in shops by gender, on Monday and Wednesday for women, and Tuesday and Thursday for men; shops will close at 5:00 pm; While from December 31 at 7:00 pm until Monday, January 4 at 5:00 am there will be a total quarantine.
