The Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa) has established the guidelines for the return of people vulnerable to contagion by COVID-19 to their jobs , this as part of the implementation of the reopening plan called "Route towards the new normality".
As established by Executive Decree No. 1360, public servants aged sixty or over, those suffering from chronic or degenerative diseases, pregnant women who are not using their maternity leave and those who have been applied the measures described In Executive Decrees No. 378 of March 17, 2020 and No. 466 of June 5, 2020, they will return to their jobs complying with the sanitary biosafety measures, such as: the use of masks, frequent washing hands, physical distancing and others indicated by the health authority for the population in a state of vulnerability due to
COVID-19.
Once they have been reinstated, they will work full-time, and exceptionally and after studying each case, they may work in any of the following modalities, as determined by the entity:
- In person at the institution.
- Low working modality available.
- In a combined way between the face-to-face modality and work available.
In the case of workers in the private sector of the economy with sixty years or more, those who suffer from chronic or degenerative diseases, pregnant women who are not using their maternity leave and those who have been applied the measures described in Executive Decrees No. 378 of March 17, 2020 and No. 466 of June 5, 2020, this return to their jobs will be done under the conditions and modality agreed between the parties, complying with the sanitary biosafety measures.
