Minsa: apertura gradual para regresar a la ‘nueva normalidad’ dependerá del índice de transmisión efectiva (RT)

Minsa: gradual opening to the 'new normal' depends on effective transmission rate (RT)

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported this Wednesday, May 13, that implementing the following blocks of the "new normal" in the coming weeks will depend on the epidemiological behavior of Covid-19 in Panama.
According to the Minsa, in order to be able to lift the quarantine restrictions and go to the next stages, it will be important to maintain the behavior regarding sanitary measures to avoid the spread of the virus.

"For example, the opening of open spaces such as parks, mass transportation, restaurants and sports activities will depend on an evaluation based on the effective transmission rate (RT), and the installed capacity of the national health system, among other factors", It is reported in a statement.

This Wednesday, the opening of block 1 began, which allows e-commerce, mechanical workshops, technical services, fishing and industrial aquaculture to begin to operate.

According to the latest report from health authorities, the effective transmission rate (RT) in Panama is 1.02, on Tuesday, May 12.
