Minsa: Chiriquí maintains a 19% positivity of COVID-19 and contributes the majority of deaths to the statistics

The head of the Minsa, Luis Francisco Sucre detailed in his visit to Chiriquí the alarming figures presented by the province on the situation of COVID-19.
This Thursday, May 13, in the province of Chiriquí in circuits 4-1 and 4-2, the vaccination against COVID-19 began in adults over 60 years of age, teachers and pregnant women, which was approached by the head of the Ministry of Health of Panama ( Minsa ), Luis Francisco Sucre from where he revealed alarming figures that this region maintains on the infections that are occurring in this region.

"Chiriquí has ​​19% positivity, when the rest of the provinces are below 5%, then that is so that all Chiricans are concerned, and that is so that everyone soaks their beards and we understand that it let's put a brake on the virus for a while, let's get Chiriquí to lower its positivity and let us resume all commercial activities and that everyone can have their activities again permanently for the good of the Chiricans, "said Minister Sucre.

The minister also asserted that Chiriquí is the province that is contributing the most to the death statistics from COVID-19, noting that care should be the priority at this time for Chiricans.

Sucre said that the hospital capacity in the rooms of the Chirican hospitals is between 40% and 45% in the availability of beds, while in the intensive care units there is only 30% of availability.

It should be noted that for the vaccination of the two Chirican circuits with which the immunization began this Thursday, 135 vaccination centers were installed and it is expected that this weekend more than 42 thousand people registered on the digital platform will attend.
