Minsa authorizes restart of construction of Terminal 2 of Tocumen Airport

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) authorized the reactivation of works and construction projects in terminal 2 of Tocumen International Airport.
The Health Minister, Luis Francisco Sucre, through resolution No. 654 of July 20, 2020, gave the go-ahead for the restart of the expansion project of the air terminal corresponding to contract No. 038/12.

Only 100 workers will be allowed to participate. For the construction of phase I of parking lots of terminal 2 and the study and construction of phase II of parking lots of terminal 2, 60 workers may participate.

According to a statement from Tocumen Airport, contractors are warned that they must carry out these projects only and exclusively. Active workers must reside in the areas surrounding the project or in the province. If workers from other areas are required, they must have a COVID-19 test, prior to the start of work, and they will not be able to leave until their completion.

Contractors must comply with the guidelines for the return to normality of post-Covid-19 companies, which are covered in resolution No. 405 of May 11, 2020.

Since March 26, construction works in the Panamanian territory have been suspended through Executive Decree 506, due to the emergency of Covid-19.
