June records the most deaths from coronavirus in Panama
With the eight deaths reported by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) yesterday, Sunday, the month of June is the one with the most deaths from the coronavirus since the pandemic came to Panama.
According to the statistics of the Minsa, so far this month there have been 165 deaths, exceeding the 158 that were reported last April. Eight reports remain to be released this month.
In March, the month in which the first case of Covid-19 occurred in the country, 30 deaths were registered, then in April 158, in May 148 and so far in June 165, for a total of 501.
73.6% of the deceased (369) were patients between 60 and 80 years of age.
After 21 days have passed, June is the month in which the impact of the virus has triggered the numbers; 12,567 cases have been confirmed. This in passing is reflected in the percentage of positive cases by tests carried out with 33.3%. In June 37,740 tests were applied.

After a strict quarantine since last March 25, the government implemented a gradual reopening of economic activities; The first block was opened on May 13 and the second on June 1. There is still no date to make way for the third block, given the increase in cases.
