The Vice Minister of Labor explained that this condition to receive the Digital Voucher was reevaluated by an interministerial commission.
The Vice Minister of Labor, Roger Tejada, announced this Tuesday that it will not be necessary for the beneficiaries of the Panama Solidario program to be vaccinated with the doses against
COVID-19 to continue receiving the Digital Voucher.
He explained that this was re-evaluated by an interministerial commission and when observing that the country is close to reaching 70% vaccination and community immunity, it was decided that it will not be necessary to implement this conditioning for the beneficiaries.
"Two weeks ago in the Interministerial Commission we evaluated the situation because we are already over 66% of first doses vaccinated at the level of the general population and 56% of two doses, we are already waiting between one to two months to reach a percentage of immunity 70% of the community, that means that the boost that we were giving to the beneficiaries of the Digital Voucher will no longer be necessary, ”Tejada explained.
Vice Minister Tejada added that the benefit of the Digital Voucher will be maintained until December 2021.
It is worth mentioning that the clarification is made after in August, the National Government had announced that as of October 1 the beneficiaries of the Digital Vale had to be vaccinated to continue receiving this economic support.
“The President of the Republic announced that with a lot of effort the Digital Voucher would last for the whole of this year, at the moment we are monitoring everything that happens with the labor market ... at the end of October or November we can have the new figures and a true balance and an evaluation of the labor situation in the country and that we are going to evaluate with the Interministerial Commission of the Panama Solidario Plan,” he pointed out.
