Investigation opened after a Metrobus passenger died in a fight
The Public Ministry of Panama (MP) reported this morning that it initiated an investigation through the Homicide and Femicide Section for the death of a Metrobus passenger on the Coastal Beltway.
According to the MP, the death of the passenger was the result of a fight.
It was reported that the dispute took place within the Metrobus unit, and culminated in the death of one of the protagonists of the fight at the stop. The person's body was left lying between the back door of the bus and the sidewalk of the stop.
The National Police arrived to the scene and surrounded it.
Regarding the incident, the mass transport company Mi Bus issued a statement in which it indicated that the events occurred at 6:30 am in a unit on the Panama Viejo - Mercado del Marisco route.
"At the height of the Coastal Beltway, there was an altercation between two passengers inside the bus, where unfortunately one of them ended up dead. Upon seeing the situation, the operator followed the protocol, stood in a safe place and contacted the control center and immediately the National Police and the Emergency Service - 911 were informed, who provided assistance at the scene of the events, concludes the company's statement.
Mi Bus added that it remains at the disposal of the authorities for the pertinent investigations.
