Investigation begins in case of minor found on the roof of a school in Tocumen

The Public Ministry began an investigation into the alleged child abuse of a 10-year-old girl who was found in the middle of the night on the roof of the Pre-School in Tocumen.

The school is close to the Chilibre Panama Comprehensive Attention Center for minors (Funchipa), where cases of mistreatment and child abuse have been reported.

The Family Section of the Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office also investigates complaints of sexual abuse against children and adolescents in other shelters financed and supervised by the State.

For its part, the National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and the Family of Panama (Senniaf) indicated that the minor who was on the roof was immediately assisted by the primary care technical team of the Directorate of Special Protection of Children's Rights institution, which determined her in good health and was returned to the shelter.
