Interpol Colombia asks Panama for collaboration in investigation for assassination in Haiti

The director of the National Police of Colombia expressed that they have exchanged 322 messages requesting information with Haiti, Panama, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic and the United States.
Colombian authorities have requested collaboration from five countries, including Panama, on immigration records, names of companies and individuals, among other data, of Colombians identified in the investigation into the assassination of the president of Haiti, Jovenel Moise.

During a press conference at the headquarters of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in Bogotá, the director of the Colombian National Police, General Jorge Luis Vargas said that they have exchanged 322 messages with Haiti, Panama, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic and USA.

"In these information exchanges, what we have been cooperating are records of companies and people ... with the aim of verifying the information requested by Haiti and the information that we have been working on from Colombia," said Vargas, who made it clear that the investigation is underway. hands of the Haitian authorities "we are providing all the support."

He expressed that from Colombia they have expanded the framework of work on Mr. Germán Alejandro Rivera García (a retired captain of the Colombian Army who is among those detained by the Haitian Police), where they have “found 5 contacts in Haiti, 2 in the United States. 3 in Panama, 2 in the United Arab Emirates and 3 in Venezuela, as part of the work started since last Thursday and in which that information is being sent to the countries involved ”.

The director of the National Police of Colombia also reported that they had "knowledge through the Interpol work team in Colombia that Commissioner Dimitri Hérard, head of the general security unit of the National Palace of Haiti, had made trips to Ecuador, Panama. and the Dominican Republic using as transit to Colombia all this year (2021) ”.

The Haitian authorities announced on Sunday the arrest of one of the alleged intellectual authors of the assassination of President Moise, Christian Emmanuel Sanon, a doctor living in the United States.

Sanon is the third Haitian arrested for the assassination case, which already includes another 18 Colombians investigated for being part of the command that allegedly entered the residence of Jovenel Moise last Wednesday.
