The plenary of the National Assembly this afternoon approved on third reading the draft law 456 which establishes the general guidelines for public education policies aimed at the digital transformation of education.

The purpose of this project is to establish general guidelines for the formulation, development and implementation of educational public policies aimed at increasing equity in the educational system through the relevant implementation of various teaching-learning models, including flexible modes of education. through technological transformation, guaranteeing creative and innovative forms of delivery that facilitate students the acquisition of digital skills and competencies during their educational career and that guarantee the right to education.
In the approval of the project in plenary session, the presence of Minister Maruja Gorday de Villalobos and other members of the Ministry of Education was present.
Some of the primary objectives of the law are:
Implement large-scale technological and digital transformation for the generation of student learning, by defining plans that address the multiple dimensions of transformation including flexible modes of education and their delivery methods for all grades.
Progressively equip the educational system with the necessary technological infrastructure such as energy, connectivity, devices, content and platforms that act as pedagogical acceleration tools to support student learning.
Consolidate and integrate the advances made with the development of the technological and content platforms available in the official sector.
Innovate and facilitate the initial teacher training system and its in-service training to guarantee its curricular relevance with the mastery of the new teaching-learning models in accordance with the technological and digital transformation of the educational system.
Implement a national curriculum strengthened by digital skills for the development of 21st century skills at all educational levels of the system in the official and private sector.
