The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) issued a warning for the prevention of high tides that will occur in the Panamanian Pacific until Wednesday, March 3.
Tidal levels will reach heights of up to 5.15 meters (16.9 feet), starting at 4:54 pm this Sunday, until 7:02 am Wednesday.
In addition, the National Emergency Operations Center (COE) warns that if it coincides with heavy rains, floods could occur, mainly in the coastal areas of the country.
It is recommended to avoid activities on the Pacific coast; artisanal fishermen must use navigation equipment and life jackets; and keep watch over children and older adults who are on the shore of the beaches.
Sinaproc recommends that the population follow prevention measures and maintain the emergency numbers 911 or 520-4429.
