High rates of UV-B radiation in Panama from March 21 to 24

The Directorate of Hydrometeorology of Etesa Panama issued a surveillance notice before the presentation of High Ultraviolet Radiation Indices that will go from March 21 to 24 between 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The notice indicates that the country will have an atmospheric condition with partial cloud cover to clear on the Pacific slope; and from cloudy to partly cloudy in the Caribbean, generating mostly dry conditions with a high incidence of Solar and UV-B radiation .

The most extreme UV-B radiation indices, expected will be up to: #13.

The report also highlights that the ozone layer in our region is somewhat weak, reaching a minimum value between 260 to 280 DU (Dobson Unit), with 200 DU being a critical or very weak value, resulting in less protection.

The entity recommends citizens to follow the guidelines of the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), Health authorities and rescuers.
