The Government of Panama authorized, through Executive Decree No. 1142 of October 7, 2020, the reactivation, operation and mobilization of new economic activities at the national level, starting on October 12, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The reactivation and operation of hotels, motels, rural hostels, lodging places and complementary services is authorized.
In addition, tourist activities, non-essential transport (recreational and tourism), creative and cultural industries, music, art and dance academies, libraries, swimming pools, cinemas, theaters, museums, galleries and tourist sites with 50% closed structures will be reactivated of its capacity.
The pools will operate at 25% of their capacity.
The reopening of games of luck and chance is also made official, which includes the sale of chances and tickets of the National Charity Lottery and gambling halls.
The decree clarifies that dance activities, discos, private parties, or shows will not be allowed.
These activities, the decree indicates, will operate every day, with the exception of the curfew and total quarantine hours established by the Ministry of Health (
Minsa).
They must comply with the return to normality guidelines established by the Ministry of Health, such as the health guidelines for post-
COVID-19 operations and other protocols.
