The recent heavy rains in the province of Colón so far have left 32 houses affected with partial and total damage, due to floods and landslides in the Cativá district, informed the regional director of Sinaproc, Jaime Ospino.
In this district, a landslide was registered on a house in which five people reside, who had to evacuate from the place due to the collapse of part of the structure and also the mud reached inside the house.
While in Villa Alondra a landslide was also reported, but without material damage to any home.
The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) proceeded to deliver toiletries and mattresses to the affected families, while more support is coordinated with the Ministry of Housing and the communal board of the Cativa district.
Earlier, Sinaproc issued a warning of prevention for the entire country due to the rains that will be accompanied by thunder and gusts of wind.

Carlos Rumbo confirmed that some 30 homes were affected by heavy downpours in the Villa Guadalupe sector, Colón province.
It is specified that personnel from the Sinaproc traveled to the affected area in Colón to attend to the situation and provide assistance to the affected families.
Given the warning of prevention, Sinaproc reiterates its call to people to be vigilant in areas prone to flooding and avoid crossing rivers.
