Faced with protests in San Félix over road projects, MOP reports on tenders

The MOP points out that there have been several tenders for the execution of road projects to improve the communities of Hato Corotú and Salto Dupi.
Residents of different communities in the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca proceeded to protest and carry out a street closure on the Inter-American Highway, near San Félix, to demand that the authorities carry out road projects.

Faced with this situation, the Ministry of Public Works ( MOP ) reported in a statement that several tenders have been held for the execution of road projects to improve the communities of Hato Corotú and Salto Dupi; and ensures that the communities have been duly informed on repeated occasions.

The entity lists the following among the tenders:

The tender for the “cutting and improvement of the road: San Félix -Salto Dupi, in the district of San Félix in the province of Chiriquí and the district of Mirono in the Ngäbe Buglé region”, which already has authorization and whose execution Wait begins in the next few days, after being awarded to the company Inversionistas de Construcción, SA (IVECO) for the amount of $2,539,751.40.

And the tender for the “Road cutting and improvement: Hato Corotú-Alto Camarón, Mirono district in the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca”, which has all the technical and economic evaluations, and will be a tender in the coming months.

It is worth mentioning that the residents of the communities of the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca demand from the Government a response to the demands they maintain on the construction of roads in that region of the country.
