Etesa warns about the arrival of a slight swell on the Panamanian Pacific coast

People are warned that this slight influx of swell will generate increased rip currents in beach and coastal areas.

The Department of Hydrometeorology of Etesa warned of the arrival of a slight swell generated by the increase in current surf in areas of beaches and coasts of the Panamanian Pacific.

For the Gulf and the Bay of Panama, waves with a height of 0.5 to 1.6 meters, winds of 05 to 20 (km / h) are expected; in Los Santos and Veraguas Sur the waves will have a height of 1.0 to 2.0 m; and winds from 10 to 25 (Km / h); and in the Goolfo de Chiriquí the waves will be between 1.0 to 2.0 m. and the winds will go from 10 to 25 (Km / h).

The forecast indicates that the swell will generate some periods with moderate to strong waves and the occurrence of rip currents on the coasts and beaches. Possible scenarios that are somewhat dangerous for bathers on the beaches are highlighted due to the increase in rip currents, so it is recommended in any case to supervise bathers, follow the guidelines of the National Civil Protection System and other authorities in port and beaches.
