The President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo, approved the setting up of eight private hospitals as vaccination posts against COVID-19. This was announced by the head of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, this Friday.
There will be six private hospitals located in the capital, one in Colón, and one in Chiriquí.
Sucre added that this is part of a strategy, and if it is necessary to set up more vaccination centers, it will be done.
Panama received this week about a million vaccines from Pfizer, through bilateral negotiation and the Covax mechanism, with the aim of expediting immunization throughout the country.
Vaccination against COVID-19 in private hospitals will be parallel to that of schools, fast cars, and shopping centers.
This day of immunization in private hospitals could begin in the next two weeks, once these entities have presented their vaccination plans.
To receive the vaccine, you must register at https://vacunas.panamasolidario.gob.pa/vacunas/, and complete your information.
